I was bored so I compiled a few dos and don'ts for inkscape. It's just from my personal experience, so I could be wrong on some things, but I doubt it B)

Anyway, I hope it's helpful. I'll try to follow this up with some techniques (maybe I'll even get a screencast app working)

Excellent guide, man. I can't find fault with that. Another tip I would add is: Layers - USE THEM. I'm amazed how many Inkscapers don't use layers.

heh, I guess it depends on your workflow, personally I think it's too troublesome to move things between layers. I prefer to use groups, and wouldn't use layers unless it's a very complex image with hundreds of elements or to keep it clean if I know someone else is going to look at it ^^

XD that reminds me though, another tip (slightly related :P) I forgot to add:
keep it simple, always use as few nodes and elements as possible: the more minimal the less room for error. This way it's also much cleaner and easier to work with
